KENNEY — William R. Matheny, 90, of Kenney, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on May 4, 2019, at his family residence, Kenney.
No services are planned at this time. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, assisted the family with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to William’s grandson, Hunter Matheny.
William was born on May 7, 1928, in Waynesville, the son of Ollie and Inez (Hull) Matheny. He married Dolores Ann Koons on November 17, 1961, in Mesa, Ariz. She passed away on August 11, 2009.
Survivors include his son, James (Deborah) Matheny, Clinton, and grandson, Hunter Matheny, Kenney; and sister, Irene Weinel, of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Robert Matheny, Louisa Mandrell, Wilma Lane, Bessie Chandler, Charlotte Marks, and James Matheny.
William was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran. He worked for Latham Grain, Latham, Ill. before retiring in 1994. William was a die-hard Cardinal fan and enjoyed gardening. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Hunter.
