CLINTON – The Write Stuff for Kids Inc. has established The Off and Running Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship to assist a DeWitt County student enrolled in Richland Community College.
“We’re very pleased to announce this opportunity for a student in our county who needs financial assistance to attend our area community college,” said Helen Michelassi, president of The Write Stuff for Kids Inc.
Students who wish to apply for the scholarship must reside in DeWitt County.
For more information or to obtain an application, students should contact Tricia Cordulak, director of scholarship and alumni relations for Richland Community College at tcordulak@richland.edu or 217 875 7211, ext. 6203.
The Write Stuff for Kids Inc. provides students with school supplies, from kindergarten through high school. The organization also funds tuition for Clinton High School students to complete the CDL truck driving course through Richland.
The Write Stuff for Kids purchased a 3-D printer for the high school and has supported programs at other Clinton schools.
Every year in August, the group works with Farmer City school volunteers to outfit well over 400 Clinton and Farmer City students with the supplies they need to start the school year. Supplies are available throughout the year for teachers with incoming students or those who need to replenish their materials.
To make a tax-deductible donation to the school supply or scholarship program, please contact Helen Michelassi at 217-358 0126.
