CLINTON — It was a cool afternoon on Monday, but the weather looked good. Then the melee started.
The YMCA Warner Hospital softball team began a game with a team from Forsyth State Farm. With the visitors up first, the game started well with the Forsyth team scoring 3 runs, but Clinton rebounded for 2 runs in the bottom of the inning to keep the game reasonable.
In the second inning, Forsyth, along with Mother Nature, began a barrage. Forsyth scored 5 runs to Clinton’s one and the rains came, slowly at first, then a little more heavily.
The game continued and so did the onslaught from Forsyth with 2 runs in the third inning and a bunch in the fourth. Clinton could answer only with one more run in the 4th inning as the rains continued off and on throughout the game.
Clinton lost the water-logged game with a few runs to Forsyth’s bunches of runs.
