CLINTON — There were some youth coach pitch baseball games last week on the city’s east side, and enthusiasm among the players is as high as ever.
In the coach pitch league, it is team oriented. The entire team takes the field, not just nine specific players; and the entire team takes a turn at bat in each inning (usually three times of batting around). And, there’s no score to worry about. How great is that?
The four teams on hand for the two games that evening were the Clinton Grey team playing the Hammer Fitness & Strength team, and then the Clinton Maroon team took on the team from Groovy Graffiti.
There are other idiosyncrasies in this league but it is mainly about learning the basics and having fun hitting and running the bases and fielding.
