Are your representatives in Congress doing anything to save Social Security?

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a recent television interview, former Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, Martin O’Malley, said he feared the thousands of Social Security employees axed by Elon Musk and his quasi “Department of Government Efficiency” would result in collapse of the agency.

O’Malley said many of the employees who were fired by Musk and his team were the people responsible for keeping the system functioning, the employees who best understood how it operated.

Multiple news outlets reported last week that current Social Security employees working at the agency said staffing and service cuts, along with policy changes, were causing “complete, utter chaos.”

The employees said the disarray threatened to send the agency into a “death spiral.”  They warned the cuts were leading to a structural collapse of Social Security.
