CLINTON — Carleston “Carley” Prewitt was born in Corbin, Ky. on May 24, 1939, to Van and Laura Prewitt, of Heyworth. She went to heaven on December 19, 2024, in Clinton.
She is survived by four children, Jo Lovins, Pekin; Patty Lovins McAnnally, Clifton Forge Va.; Holly Lovins (Jay) Briggs Havelock N.C.; and Richard Lovins, Heyworth; two sisters Mary (Paul) Mollet Dekalb; and Tammy (Dean) Harris, Leroy.
Carley had nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carley enjoyed the companionship of her friends at the DeWitt County Friendship Center in Clinton, where she participated in many activities, and of her beloved cat Boots.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Orville.
Services will be held at a later date. Calvert Belangee-Bruce Funeral home in Heyworth is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
