CLINTON — Charles “Chuck” W. Johnson, 81, of Clinton, passed away at 10:37 a.m. on January 6, 2025, at his family residence, Clinton.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Pastor Terry Leach officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Texas Township Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the funeral home. The family requests casual attire.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Chuck was born on December 11, 1943, in Champaign, the son of Johnny and Bernice (Dye) Johnson. He married Martha Bartimus on February 6, 1987, in Decatur.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Johnson, Clinton; daughter, Shannon Thomasson, Ariz.; stepson, Thomas (Jenny) Tripp, Decatur; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherri Durbin; grandson, Charles Joseph Durbin; stepfather, Charles Carr.
Chuck served his country in the US Navy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.
