ATHENS, Ill. — Charlotte J. Bueltmann, 81, was called to her heavenly home on January 22, 2025.

She was born on October 30, 1943, in Springfield, the daughter of Alfred and Erma Tansky. On June 29, 1963, in New Berlin, Ill., she married David J Bueltmann, who survives.

Charlotte graduated from New Berlin High School.  Although she enjoyed her work as head cook for Camp CILCA and running the Bueltmann Gasthaus, in Quincy, her true joys in life were raising the couple’s five children and supporting her pastor husband.  Charlotte’s unconditional love, kindness and care will be greatly missed by her family and others.  Charlotte loved her Savior, and we rejoice that we will see her again.

Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Dr. David Bueltmann and their five children and 17 grandchildren,  Kris (and children Sarah, Seth, Rachel, Emily, Adam, and Hannah); the Rev. Kevin (wife Tawn and children the Rev. Aaron, Brianna, Carly, and Davis); the Rev. Keith (and children Katy, Arik, and David), Rev. Kurtis (wife Cyndi and children Jacob, Abi, Augie, and Jordan), and Deaconess Kim, as well as 13 great-grandchildren .

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28 from 4-7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in New Berlin, Ill., and Wednesday, January 29 from 10-10:45 a.m.

The celebration of life service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, January 29 at 11 a.m.
