CLINTON — Clinton was pretty much dug out on Monday from the weekend snow storm that was forecast to stretch from the Great Plains to the Mid-Atlantic states and as far south as north Florida.
Local snowfall total from the storm was recorded at five inches, according to the National Weather Service and created some near white-out conditions for travelers. But, southern Illinois fared worse, with some areas recording at least eight inches of snow.
On Monday, more than 10,000 people in Williamson County remained without power.
Snow and ice accumulation created conditions for a multi-car accident on Interstate 70 Sunday near Casey, Ill.
