CLINTON — The Clinton School District held its Truth in Taxation levy hearing on December 17. Superintendent of Schools Drew Goebel filed the levy on December 18
“As a reminder, our school district overlaps three counties but is primarily DeWitt,” Goebel said.
The additional counties in the district are Macon and Logan.
“When you look at the levy, it’s comparing what last year’s levy was compared to this year’s levy,” Goebel said. “It’s the increase in the property value from last year. When we look at that, the actual increase …is about 19 percent.”
The increase is not in the property tax rate. Goebel said a hearing was required when the increase in assessed value increases district tax revenue by more than 5 percent.
