CLINTON — The DeWitt County Board, on March 20, voted to declare a vacancy on the board for District C.  Board member Tom Farris resigned from the board, citing personal reasons.

“The board has to declare that vacancy and then notify the chairman of each party,” said board chairman Joe Witte.

Farris was a member of the Republican party, so the county Republican organization has 60 days to name a replacement to fill the seat until the election.

“I thank Mr. Farris for his service,” Witte said.  “I know he was very active with public safety and animal control.”

Reappointments included Richard Hardesty to the Farmer City Fire Protection District, Sandra Beecher to the DeWitt County Community Mental Health Board, and Jeff Kiesling, Stephen Page and Mike Walker to the ETSB.

John Werts was appointed to fill seats left vacant by Tom Farris on the ETSB and CenCom boards, and Candance McCartan to fill the unexpired term of Conner Anderson on the ETSB board.
