WEST JORDAN, Utah — Dallas Summitt, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in West Jordan, Utah on January 30, 2025.
Dallas was born on January 4, 1953, in Bloomington, Ind., where he resided until he joined the U.S. Navy in the 1970s. After completion of service, he resided in Clinton and later moved to West Jordan, Utah.
He was a loving dad, pawpaw and friend to many.
Dallas was very well known in the community for his knowledge of heating and air conditioning. He provided years of service as owner of Summitt Heating and Air.
Dallas never knew a stranger or denied a friend. His laugh was infectious, and you never saw him without a cup of coffee, a cigarette and a big, ole smile on his face, while singing a country song or telling one of his many stories. Dallas loved life and always said, “I’ve lived one hell of a life, and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Dallas is survived by his children, Tricia Summitt, Danville, Ill.; Nikolas Summitt, Clinton, and step-son Justin Wilson; his grandchildren, Trevor Blue, Xzavier Cantu, Deeken Summitt, Beaunka Summitt, Izaiah Summitt Suggs, Quentin Summitt-Angelo, Jacie Hidalgo, and Jackie Moore. He also is survived by five sisters and two brothers, Indianapolis, Ind., and father-in-law/close friend Terry Robinson, Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Dallas’ love for his children and grandchildren was undeniable. Dallas will be remembered and missed by all who loved him, and his sense of humor and smile will be carried on. If he taught anyone anything, it’s, live, live life to the fullest and love BIG.
