CLINTON — In her role at ONDCP, Anne Hazlett shapes policy aimed at improving the quality of life in rural America, coordinates interagency efforts on drug control activity affecting  rural communities, and builds coalitions and grassroots strategies in these areas centered on prevention, treatment and recovery.

Hazlett and U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis were in Clinotn recently to talk to local healthcare representatives.

 At the federal level Davis, his fellow Republicans, and Democrats have worked together to pass more than 60 bills and invest nearly $4 billion to address the problem of drug addiction, including $43 million to Illinois. 

Last Congress, on a bipartisan basis, legislators passed H.R. 6, the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment (SUPPORT) for Patients and Communities Act, which was signed into law and included dozens of bills to combat the opioid crisis.

Heritage is the mental health and substance abuse treatment provider in DeWitt County.
