NORMAN, Okla. — Joan Adele Floyd was born to Harold and Estelle (Chapman) Beagle on March 23, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., and passed at the age of 90 on October 11, 2021, in Norman, Okla.
Our Mom and your friend will be missed. Joan’s family was very important to her and she said many times “I love my family.”
Joan is survived by her two daughters, Vicky (Floyd) Arbuckle in Norman, Okla., and Denise (Floyd) McCoskey and Chris McCoskey (son-in-law) in Norman, Okla. She leaves behind four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. They are Amie Herndon – children, Taylor, Jared, and Jacob Herndon (Moore, Okla.); Nicole Arbuckle (Tulsa, Okla.); Dr. Sarah Roberts and Chad Roberts – children, Pruitt and Sullivan Roberts (Dallas, Texas); Ashley and Dr. Jonathan Bagwell – children, Chandler and Harper Bagwell (Wylie, Texas). Other surviving relatives are Carol Hutchinson, a sister, in Chicago, Mary Twist, a sister-in-law, in Forsyth, John Van Ness and Rodney Twist, her nephews in Ft. Worth, and Lloyd Funk, a nephew in Arizona.
Joan was preceded in death by her son, Scott Floyd, her husband, Robert Floyd, a brother, Peyton Van Ness, a sister, Florence Miller, and a son-in-law, William Arbuckle. Joan Adele Floyd was a special, loving person who will forever have a place in our hearts.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Clinton.
