CLINTON — Kenneth Eugene Stalter, 90, of Clinton, died at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Mr. Stalter was born on September 18, 1934, in Chenoa, Ill., the son of Wilbert and Margaret Louise Brave Stalter. He married Cleadeth C. Klein on March 9, 1958, in Chenoa. She preceded him in death on July 24, 1982. He then married Doris Chapman on November 6, 1987. She preceded him in death on October 12, 2015.
Survivors include his brother, Wesley (June) Stalter, Greensburg, Ind., a special companion, Rita Scanlon, Bloomington, two step-daughters, Vickie (John) Roetker, Ottawa, Ill., and Sherry (Bob) Chapman, Clinton, as well as several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded death by three brothers and one sister.
Mr. Stalter served in the United States Army in Germany (1955-1957). He worked as an internal switch operator for GTE for 34 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and vegetable gardening.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, followed by a graveside service at Chenoa Township Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Williams of the Chenoa Baptist Church will officiate.
The family suggests memorials be given to the charity of their choice.
