CLINTON — Margie A. Chapman, 83, of Clinton, passed away at 4:30 a.m. on May 4, 2025, at Accolade Healthcare of Pontiac, Pontiac, Ill.
Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Clinton Church of God, Clinton, with Pastor Mark Cooper officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Private family burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, will be at a later date. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be directed to Second Chance for Pets pet adoption.
Margie was born on April 14, 1942, in Clinton, the daughter of Ernest “E.J.” and Lillie (Hoge) Stokes.
Survivors include her children, Jenny (Mark) Scherf, Plainfield, Ill.; Harold (Annette) Chapman, Lincoln, Ill.; Joe (Carla) Chapman, Sparta, Tenn.; and Tracy Chapman, New Johnsonville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and two on the way; and brother, Charles (Mollie) Stokes, Sarasota, Fla.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
One of Margie’s greatest joys was watching deer at Weldon Springs.
