CLINTON — Marilyn F. Thayer, 84, of Clinton, passed away at 4:31 p.m. on May 18, 2025, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.
No services are planned at this time. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.
Memorials may be directed to Little Galilee Christian Camp.
Marilyn was born on June 1, 1940, in Clinton, the daughter of Harold and Florence E. (Hollibaugh) Sullivan. She married Earl D. Thayer on March 20, 1960, in Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Earl D. Thayer, Clinton; children, Sheryl (Mark) Jones, Phoenix, Ariz.; Sarah Hopper, Clinton; and Eric Thayer, Clinton; grandchildren, Alec (Vipasa Leeaphorn) Jones; Callie Jones; Kristen Hopper Ryman; Britney Hopper (Jesse Van DerDoes); Blake (Tana) Thayer, great grandchildren, Carson (Michaela) Alexander; Macy (Conner) Husted; Aidan Alexander; Reed Notaro and great-great granddaughters, Peyton and Paisley Alexander.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Larry Sullivan; Arlene Sosamon; Mary Ellen Junkert; and Ruth Ann Rickgauer.
Marilyn was the owner and operator Major Trucking and Disposal. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Clinton.
