CLINTON — Mavis Arlene McMahon, 93 of Clinton, passed away at 10:55 p.m. on May 2, 2025, at her home in Clinton.

 A celebration of Mavis’ life will be held from 1–5 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Eagles Lodge, Clinton. The family entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with cremation rites.

 Memorials in Mavis’ name may be directed to Second Chance for Pets.

Mavis was born on May 11, 1931, in Clinton, the daughter of Jesse R. and Mary Alice (Bray) Hammer. She married the love of her life of 38 years, James F. “Mickey” McMahon.

Survivors include her daughter, Glenna Arlene (Keith) Sears-Willis, granddaughter, Tina (Shane) Sears-Baker, great-granddaughter, Morgan, great-grandson, Trey, two great-great granddaughters, two great-great grandsons, stepson, James (Sue) McMahon, sister-in-law, Evelyn Hammer, special nephew, Terry (Cori) Hammer, and two friends who were like daughters to her, Becky Stewart and Donna Turney.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Glenda Marlene Sears, son, Michael Sears, granddaughter, Michelle Sears, and brother, Lyle Hammer.

Mavis was the proud owner of Arlene’s Fab and Fashion. She loved to entertain guests and especially loved spending time with her family. She was also a member of the First Christian Church and Assembly of God Church in Clinton, along with the First Presbyterian Church in Kampsville, Ill.
