CLINTON — Looking for something to do in November? Attend an event at the library.
This November there will be something for everyone to enjoy. All library events are free and open to the public, but space is limited and advance registration is required.

•Financial Scams-How to Protect Yourself – Thursday, 11/4 at 5:30 p.m.: Thieves are getting trickier and more scams are hitting our community. Arm yourself with information! Join us for this free event presented by Connie Unruh, Financial Literacy Coordinator for First National Bank. Adult.
• Fall Turkey Decorating – Wednesday, 11/10 at 3:45 p.m.: Gobble up some festive fun and decorate your very own turkey with lots of different craft supplies! All ages.
• General Book Club – Tuesday, 11/16 at 6 p.m.: Join the discussion! November’s selection is Neither Wolf Nor Dog by Kent Nerburn. Need a copy of the book? Library staff members are happy to help. Adult.
• Harvest Leaf Painting – Wednesday, 11/17 at 3:45pm: Enhance the natural beauty of falling leaves with painted patterns. All supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring dry leaves from home. Teens, ages 12-18.
• Needle in the Haystack: A True Crime Event – Thursday, 11/18 at 5:30 p.m.: Explore types of forensic evidence and discuss a homicide case study with Master Sergeant Tim Lemasters, Illinois State Police. Adult.
• Mystery Book Club – Monday, 11/22 at 1 p.m.: Join the discussion! November’s selection is Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Need a copy of the book? Library staff members are happy to help. Adult.
The fun and excitement doesn’t end with in-person events. Be sure to check out all of the other free activities that are available at the library in November.
• Autumn Leaf Art Grab ‘n Go Kit – Begins Monday, 11/1: Celebrate fall with a stained-glass style art project. Pick up a free kit to make this craft at home while supplies last. One per person, please. All ages.
• Storytime Continues in November – Mornings, Wednesdays and Fridays: Get ready to move and groove along with us for stories, songs, and lots of silliness at our in-person storytimes. Four different sessions will be offered each week. Advance registration is not required for storytime events. Find the full schedule online at www.vwarner.org. Ages birth to 5 (and their caregivers, too).
• Family Meal Wall on the Children’s Floor – All Month: In November, there will be a big Family Meal on the children’s floor wall! Come on in and draw your favorite dish to add to our table any time! All ages.
• Family Movie Night – Tuesday, 11/23 at 5 p.m.: Join us for a family-friendly movie night on the children’s floor! Drop in and stay for as long or as little as you like! No registration is required for this program, but seats are still limited! All ages.
• Post-Christmas Parade Activity on the Square – Saturday, 11/27: Stop by the Square after the Christmas Parade to participate in a quick holiday activity. All ages.
The library building will be closed on Thursday, November 11 for a Library Improvement Day and on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26 in observance of Thanksgiving. The 24/7 digital library is always available at www.vwarner.org/eresources.
