SPRINGFIELD — Phyllis A. Martin, 87, of Springfield, formerly of Clinton, passed away at 3 p.m. on November 13, 2019, at her family residence, Springfield.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Josh Ryder officiating. Burial will follow at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 10:30–11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to CUSD #15 library fund.
Phyllis was born on February 13, 1932, in Woodbine, Iowa, the daughter of Vern and Helen (Jackson) Burkholder. She married Wayne Epperson in Magnolia, Iowa. He passed away in May 1996. She later married Warren E. Martin on January 21, 1973, in Chatham, Ill. He passed away on October 14, 2003.
Survivors include her children, Randy (Charlene) Epperson, Wisconsin; Bari Putnam, Springfield; Brad Epperson, Springfield; Robert (Andrea Hejtmanek) Epperson, Calgary, Canada; three grandchildren, Allyn (Josh) Ryder, Springfield; Ryan (Niha) Epperson, Redmond, Wash.; Alexandra Jacque, Huntsville, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, David (Karen) Burkholder, Cedar Falls, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Burkholder; and one sister, Jessie McClain.
Phyllis worked alongside her husband, Warren Martin, at Warren Martin Auction Company for over 30 years in Clinton. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
