We would like to thank everyone who helped and donated to “poppy day.” It helps us to thank and honor our veterans.
In the fall, we sent cards to local veterans with gift cards in them and also mailed cards to out-of-town veterans to honor and thank them for service.
Additionally, we take and send things to Illiana (Danville) Hospital-Nursing Home and Housing because we have local people there who are homeless or without a family.
We give to other funds and try to help veterans in other ways as well.
It’s amazing how many people helped. We would like to thank the following businesses who allowed us to use their locations: Casey’s – Clinton West and Wapella, Clinton Pantry, Kirby IGA, Save-a-Lot and Snapper’s.
A very special extra thank you to Carm Sartie, who helped get two-thirds of our donations. He doubled the amount he got last year.
