FARMER CITY — Thomas Elvin “Tom” Belangee, 56, of Farmer City, passed away Friday, on April 4, 2025.
His funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, in Farmer City, with Pastor Dave Ashby officiating. Tom was laid to rest in Oak Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation was held from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Tom’s memory.
Tom was born on June 10, 1968, in Clinton, a son of Elvin and Julia (Hunt) Belangee. He is survived by his parents, Elvin and Julia Belangee, of Farmer City; brother, Tim (Melinda) Belangee, of Farmer City; sister, Erin (Brian) Young, of Sullivan, Ill., and their two children, William and Wesley.
Tom is also survived by a caring family of uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dean and Nona Hunt and paternal grandparents, Elvis and Leona Belangee.
Tom graduated from Blue Ridge High School, in Farmer City. He retired after 28 years as a custodian at Clinton Community High School.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time at his lake home on Kentucky Lake. He was a Chicago Cubs and Illini fan.
Tom was a kind and thoughtful person, known for his gentle spirit and warm smile. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
