CLINTON — Sam A. Meade, 76 of Clinton, passed away 6:32 p.m. on Friday, August 9, at his  residence, in Clinton, from injuries sustained in a house fire, according to DeWitt County Coroner Randy Rice. The incident is being investigated by the Illinois State Fire Marshall, Clinton Police and the DeWitt County Coroner.

Fire departments from Clinton, Farmer City, Heyworth, Kenney, Hickory Point, Maroa, Weldon and Waynesville responded just after 6 p.m. Friday to a call of a house fire in the 1100 block of E. Jefferson Street.
