CLINTON — The county could be on the verge of a major review of its land use rules after discussion by the land use committee probed the subject on Monday.
“There are a lot of things that don’t apply that are in our book,” committee chairman Terry Ferguson told committee members. “And, we’ve got a lot of things we’re dealing with right now and need clarification.”
The county board currently is dealing with how to approach commercial solar energy facilities erected on private lands, much as it had with the wind energy issue. A solar developer already has plans to build a facility near Weldon.
Some board members favor a less restrictive code with regard to solar development, while others prefer a heavily restricted solar ordinance.
