With these additional cases, DeWitt Co has had a total of 1384 cases; Piatt Co has had a total of 1450 cases. Over the past week, DeWitt Co has had 13 cases, Piatt Co has had 8 cases. There have now been a total of 23 deaths in DeWitt Co and 14 deaths in Piatt Co due to COVID-19. Although growth is slow, we are seeing a trend toward a resurgence in the number of cases, similar to what is happening across the state overall.

Eligibility for vaccination continues to expand.  It is expected that by April 12, eligibility for vaccination will become even more broad.  Walgreens pharmacies in our area also offer vaccination services.  IDPH has started a vaccination hotline to enable residents to make an appointment at several state sponsored vaccination sites.  The hotline is available 7 days a week from 6 a.m. to midnight. The hotline phone number is 1-833-621-1284.

SignUpGenius link is available April appointments.  Find this link on our website (www.dewittpiatthealth.com) and Facebook page. We are accepting 1st and 2nd dose appointments now.

We are working now to try and coordinate special outreach clinics with each of our local school districts to vaccinate eligible students.  These efforts are contingent upon our receipt of Pfizer vaccine which has been approved for use in ages 16 and older.

We are working closely with the IL National Guard to offer DeWitt Co residents special vaccination clinics on Sunday and Monday April 11 and 12 that will utilize doses of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine, the only single-dose vaccination available.  We hope to coordinate with them a site in Farmer City and a site in Clinton.  Details will be forthcoming.  Please check our website and FB page for details.

Additional vaccination information is located here: https://www.dph.illinois.gov/covid19/vaccine-faq and  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/faq.html

PLEASE continue to practice our prevention protocol:  WASH your hands frequently, WEAR a mask when in public, WATCH your distance (maintain a 6 ft distance), don't attend or host gatherings, and shelter vulnerable populations.

Thank you!
