CLINTON — As part of the hearing before adopting the new city budget, the city council heard capital improvement plans for the hospital for the coming year.

Warner Hospital & Health Services CEO Paul Skowron went over the hospital’s budget, which included some planned upgrades and changes to the facility.

The hospital pharmacy will see a segregated area for drug compounding.  The change won’t alter the size of the pharmacy but is in response to new regulatory requirements.

The emergency room will receive some remodeling, which will create space for an additional bed in that department.

Among other work, the maintenance department will tackle some recent issues with the pavement in the hospital parking area.

Additional city business

The city council approved the following at its Monday meeting:

• the low bid for garbage pick-up at city facilities from J&S Disposal for $750 per month

• the 2019 summer street maintenance program for $100,332.82

• a water tower lease agreement with WHOW 

• brush grinding and leaf disposal/yard waste facility from R&R Services of Illinois, Inc. for $4,000.
