Reorganized county board meets Dec. 20

CLINTON — The reorganized DeWitt County Board will meet for its first regular meeting on Thursday, December 20.

New members Nathan Ennis, Dan Matthews and Travis Houser were sworn in on December 3.  Incumbents Cris Rogers, Randy Perring and Sue Whitted lost their bids for reelection in the November 6 election, largely because of a push by wind energy opponents to oust them from the board.

Public hearings for the wind energy special use permits could begin as early as February.

David Newberg and Camille Redman were reelected board chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

The three new members have been assigned to serve on the board’s public safety, property, road and bridge and marina committees.
