CLINTON — The Clinton school board approved a 2.1 percent Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) pay increase for support staff beginning with the 2018-19 school year. This includes custodial, maintenance, food service, secretarial, clerical and transportation.
The board also approved COLA increases of the same amount for Clinton High School principal Jerry Wayne, CHS assistant principal Bob Svencner, Douglas School principal Beth Wickenhauser, and district superintendent Curt Nettles.
Set salaries were announced for Clinton Elementary School (CES) principal Sacha Young at $80,000, CES assistant principal Ben Mooney at $74,000, newly named Clinton Junior High School principal Josh Maxwell at $90,000 and newly assigned district treasurer Drew Goebel at $100,000.
James Peck, formerly a teacher at Maroa-Forsyth Middle School was named the new assistant principal at CJHS.
In other business, the board:
• Approved the employment of the following individuals: Jessica Scott, CHS assistant girls’ basketball coach; Alexa Beck, CJHS English teacher; Andrea Rhoades, CJHS softball coach; Fred Knap, CHS industrial technology teacher; Kristin Wilson, CES fourth grade teacher; Brian Molitoris, CJHS science teacher; Chelsea Trone, CES second grade teacher; Amy Whisker, CJHS FACS teacher; Morgan Frazier, CES special education aide; Chad Martin, Brock Weigelman, Don Ridgeway, Wes Graves, Nick Blackburn and Lance Clark as CHS assistant football coaches.
• Gave the administration permission to dispose, sell or recycle TVs, VCRs, old student desks and unused furniture.
• Cancelled the July board meeting.
