WAPELLA — Wapella trustees met briefly Tuesday in a special session to amend village code to reflect new departmental duties.
“This puts the head of water over the park, it puts the head of finance head of the treasurer, and it puts the FOIA officer under president,” said village board president Sherry Mears.
The board also voted to accept the resignation of village clerk Lauren Johnson, effective Oct.31. Johnson will help train a newly-appointed clerk set to take over that position.
Mears nominated and the board approved the appointment of Ally Sprague as new village clerk.
Sprague will receive hourly pay during her training period before becoming the salaried clerk on Nov.1.
