CLINTON — Celebrate Clinton Association announced this week that the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Firecracker 5K Run will kick off the “July 4th Celebration” on Mr. Lincoln’s Square with registration beginning at 6:45 a.m. and the run commencing at 7:30 a.m.
The Clinton Police and Fire Departments will serve free breakfast at 8 a.m. A flag raising ceremony will follow the breakfast.
Free family-based activities will be held throughout the day, including patriotic bike, trike, stroller and wagon decorating contest, face painting, balloon artist, watermelon eating contest, donut eating contest, homemade salsa and homemade pie and cake contests, kids’ decorated cupcakes contest and a pedal tractor pull.
Also, a lineup of local “celebrities” will be in the dunk tank booth.
Food vendors are all local nonprofit organizations. Musical groups performing on the stage will include the NATU Band, The Fabulous Hoedads with Grammy winner, Ron Stockert and King T’z!
• The annual fireworks display has been rescheduled to July 5, but all July 4 activities on the square will go on as scheduled.
