New officers sworn in during April 2 city council meeting

CLINTON — City attorney John Hoblit swore-in two new Clinton police officers, Margaret McCue and Aristotle Weder on April 2.

McCue is a 2021 graduate of Clinton High School and a 2023 graduate of Richland Community College. 

“She is new to us, a hometown product,” said Clinton Police Chief Ben Lowers.

McCue will attend the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center in May to start 16 weeks of recruit training.

Weder is from Wheeling, Ill.  He is a 2023 graduate of the University of Illinois Police Training Institute and has served for the past year with the Peoria Police Department.
