The Write Stuff for Kids helps CHS students add new dimension

Posted

CLINTON — The Write Stuff for Kids Inc. recently purchased a 3-D printer for students at Clinton High School.

The local charitable group provides school supplies to DeWitt County students as well as funding projects for local classrooms. The 3-D printer is the most recent donation of a much-needed addition to help expand student potential.

“The kids were absolutely enthralled about what it could do and I look forward to providing them with the educational opportunities to build on it. Thank you again for the support you provide for our students education. It is greatly appreciated,” Clinton High School Principal Jerry Wayne said after the printer was installed.

In August, the Write Stuff for Kids Inc. distributed school supplies to about 400 students in the Clinton district and about 50 in Farmer City. A partnership with The Samaritan Room enabled students to have a new pair of gym shoes.

In 2017 The Write Stuff for Kids Inc. also donated $500 to the elementary school program that puts new books into the hands of students and covered tuition payments for six Clinton High School students to complete the CDL driving course through Richland Community College.

“The work we do to help students is made possible by the generous support we receive from people and organizations who care and want to see children succeed,” said Write Stuff for Kids Inc. president Helen Michelassi.

Donations may be sent to the Write Stuff for Kids Inc. at 511 S. Isabella, Clinton, IL 61727.
