CLINTON — The annual Perseid meteor shower
Weldon Springs State Park
Meadowview Picnic Area
August 11 / 10 p.m.
Come and enjoy the spectacular display in the night sky as Earth travels through a stream of cosmic debris and our atmosphere incinerates tiny particles of comet Swift-Tuttle to produce 50-60 “shooting stars” per hour.
A fire and a treat will be provided. Bring a blanket (lawn chairs will give you “astronomer’s neck”) bug spray and a sweater for comfort. No special equipment or experience is needed.
In the event of rain, the program will be cancelled. t
