The James Adcock Teacher Scholarship is a legacy award in memory of popular and long-time CHS teacher, James Adcock and is awarded to seniors who have been accepted into or currently enrolled fulltime in an undergraduate teacher-education program. This year, awards were presented to Sarah Mills and Miranda Stanek.

The Vincent Green Memorial Scholarship supports students pursuing higher education who have demonstrated qualities of leadership, citizenship and commitment to their chosen field of study. The 2024 awards were presented to Davis Howell and Brooke Reeves.

Constellation/Clinton Power Station awards two scholarships to students who exhibited strong success in STEM studies. Opportunities for further funding can be available if students pursue interests in nuclear science. Awards were presented to Heidi Humble and Adeline Koritz.

The Chenoweth Family Scholarship was established this year in memory of the long-time DeWitt County farming family and awards go to CHS seniors who have an interest in pursuing fields of study in agriculture, home economics, hospitality or music.

Gerald Ryan Agriculture Scholarship is presented in memory of

Jerry Ryan, a local DeWitt Co farmer for many decades. Dr. Cynthia Ryan presented awards this year to Ma Kayla Koeppel, Sarah Mills, and Davis Howell.

College enrolled students receiving furthering awards were Chloe Barth, Western Illinois University and Isabelle Arnold, Oklahoma State University.

VINCENT BEGGS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS  Established in 2011 as the first endowment for Clinton Community Educational Foundation, the Beggs awards are given to CCHS

senior students pursuing higher education. Mr. Beggs, a long time farm owner and retiree from State Farm Insurance as a financial investment specialist, provided guidelines for the Foundation

to implement sound investments. Scholarship applications are reviewed using directives suggested by Mr. Beggs, encouraging selections to be diverse and are not subject to specific fields of

study, but rather to those students exhibiting ambition to be successful. This year’s $5000 awards were presented to Drew Moser, Karla Ramirez, Lesley Guerrero, and Miranda Stanek. $2500 technical studies awards were presented to Kylie Barton and Kaylee Cornwell. Since 2011, 64 college scholarships have been awarded to CCHS Seniors.

There are already new scholarship awards being established later this year and will be ready for applications in spring 2025. High school families should keep updated on all possibilities by logging into

CCEF website. The Ed Foundation invites participation to establish endowments at any time; a legacy that can be appreciated for generations of CCHS grads.
