SPECIAL TO THE CLINTON JOURNAL
CLINTON — During the month of June, the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum presented “Quilted Keepsakes,” a quilt show featuring nearly 50 quilts displayed throughout the mansion.
The exhibit included antique quilts from the museum collection, private collections, and contemporary pieces loaned by local quilters.
More than 200 visitors toured the mansion and viewed the quilts. They also voted for their favorite piece of needlework.
This year the honor of being selected as the viewers’ favorite quilt went to Joni Newberg for her “Pumpkins & Sunflowers” applique quilt. The quilt was completed only a day prior to being submitted for exhibit.
The Quilted Keepsakes Quilt Show is an annual event. Newberg’s outstanding quilt will be honorably displayed during next year’s “Quilted Keepsakes” quilt show.
