CLINTON — On Saturday, Clinton Community YMCA executive director Rennie Cluver was joined by a crowd of supporters as he unveiled the sign marking the site of the new Y facility at Prairie Passage, on North Center Street.
Cluver said the plan represents a vision that has existed since he started at the Y 12 years ago. He said it grew out of a need for more gymnasium space and to grow the Y’s programs.
He said the community had come together around a shared vision.
“Many of you here who I’ve been able to share it with, I’ve been so inspired by the support,” Cluver said. “Us, as a team, the organization, keeps us pushing forward to do the right thing for the Y and the community.”
Cluver said the Y had always been more than a building, it was about people.
