I wanted to give a big thanks to the community for the participation in Memorial Day at Woodlawn Cemetery.
I had the privilege of working with Marjorie Devore and Carole Wylder behind the scenes. Many meetings, and phone calls! This event has been a staple in our community for so many years, and it is always amazing to see how many of our community members attend this service.
This is a coordinated event, from Calvert’s delivering, setting-up and removal of the chairs, to the Clinton Fire Department for setting up the sound system. Our local veterans organizations; with the wreaths, flags and 21 gun salute, Our churches; for transportation, backup locations and our invocation and benediction. The Chamber of Commerce for year after year handling the printed program, the High School Band, our Scouts, all of our speakers, singers, and wreath presenters.
I had the honor of the position of master of ceremonies this year instead of marching in with my fellow veterans and wanted to thank each and every one of you for making this event as special as it is every year. If you are interested in becoming part of the committee for future years please let me know.
