LINCOLN — Central Illinois is headed for the first bitterly cold temperatures of the winter, the National Weather Service forecasting single-digit highs for the weekend.
Friday is forecast as mostly sunny with a high near 28, but nighttime low temps will fall to around 13 with a high of 21 forecast for Saturday.
Saturday night will have a 30 percent chance of snow as temperatures begin falling to a low of around minus 1 degree.
Sunday’s high temperature is forecast to reach just 8 degrees with nighttime lows dropping to minus 4.
Monday will be partly sunny with temps a little warmer at about 17.
