Eighth grade girls won the regional championship this year by beating Taylorville 21–20. This was a hard fought game that went back and forth, eventually Clinton ran the clock out for the win. Unfortunately the girls bowed out in the sectionals to Chatham. Clinton’s record was 19-5. This is the second year in a row that this team has won regionals. Last year, the girls compiled a record of 21-3 at the seventh grade level. They also won the conference championship that year. The girls were coached by Jeff Bell and Kristen Cooper.
