Departments respond to camper fire at Weldon Springs

CLINTON — Fire departments from Clinton, Kenney, Maroa and Wapella responded at about 10 a.m. on Thursday to a camper fire at Weldon Springs State Park campground. The caller to 911 reported the camper was fully engulfed by fire and had spread to some trees.
Firefighters had the blaze under control within about 15 minutes. No additional information is yet available.
