NORMAL — Saturday, June 23, saw rain showers come and go from cloudy skies, but the Illinois Coaches (high school) Association 44th Annual MCStrong All-Star game played on in Normal, at the Corn Crib.
This year’s event was of local interest beause Clinton High School graduate Mac Hickman was picked for the game as one of the pitchers for the Blue Team. Each team (Blue and Gray) was composed of 22 of the best players from around the state.
There were a couple of players acquainted with Mac from high school conference play, and one player on the opposing side who will be join Mac on the ball diamond at Rend Lake College.
Hickman entered the game in the third and pitched the third and fourth innings for the blue team. He faced nine batters, allowing only one run on two hits, while striking out one.
Mac struck out his only time at bat.
