 OPENING OF SCHOOL

 

The following information concerning the opening of the 2020-2021 school year may be helpful to parents in preparation for the school year.  Registration information is also available on the district web site at www.cusd15.org.  

 

YOU MAY REGISTER YOUR CHILD ONLINE BEGINNING JULY 22, 2020-SEE ARTICLE ON THE DISTRICT WEBSITE, CUSD15.ORG, FOR DETAILS. (On-line registration is recommended) YOU WILL BE GIVEN THE OPTION TO CHOOSE IN-PERSON OR REMOTE LEARNING. 

 

REGISTRATION:    To provide a safe and healthy environment during onsite registration we will limit attendance to one person in the building per family.  Masks will be required upon entering the building and we ask you to continue to social distance as much as possible. 

 

REGISTRATION AT EACH BUILDING:

 

LINCOLN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 407 S. JACKSON STREET

DOUGLAS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 905 E. MAIN STREET

CLINTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 680 ILLINI DRIVE

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL, 701 ILLINI DRIVE

HIGH SCHOOL, 1200 STATE ROUTE 54 WEST

 

WILL BE HELD AT THE FOLLOWING TIMES:

                

Thursday, August 6                                                                9:00 – 1:00pm

                                                                                                            4:00 – 7:00pm

                

In order to be accepted for registration in the Clinton Unit Schools for the 2020-2021 school year, kindergarten students must reach their fifth birthday on or before September 1, 2020.

 

BIRTH CERTIFICATES:

All students who are entering Clinton Unit Schools for the first time are required to present a certified copy of their birth certificate as evidence of date of birth.  This would include preschool, kindergarten students and those students transferring into the Clinton Unit Schools, regardless of age or grade level.

 

PARENT/GUARDIAN EVIDENCE OF RESIDENCY:

All parents and guardians will be required to show evidence of residency at registration.  This can be done by showing a driver’s license, voter registration card, or a picture identification that reflects your address.

 

PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS AND IMMUNIZATIONS:

Medical examinations and immunizations are required of the following students: (a) all kindergarten and preschool students entering for the first time; (b) all first grade students who did not attend kindergarten last year and do not have a health record on file; and, (c) all students entering the sixth and ninth grade.  PLEASE BRING PHYSICAL AND IMMUNIZATION RECORDS TO REGISTRATION.  State law requires that all of the above students file a complete medical examination and immunization record on or prior to the opening of school on August 19, 2020.  In addition to the normal requirements, a diabetes screening shall be included as a required part of the health examination.  Lead screening is a required part of the health examination for children age six years or younger.  A dental exam is required for all students in kindergarten, second and sixth by May 15 of that grade level.  Eye exams by a registered optometrist will be required for all kindergarten students.

 

SUPPLY LIST:

Supply lists for preschool through grade 5 will be posted on our website and in each building during registration.

 

SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM:

The school breakfast and lunch program will begin on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.   Prices are as follows:

 

            Breakfast:                    $1.50

            K-8 Lunches:              $2.00

            9-12 Lunches:             $2.25

            Adult Lunches:            $2.75

            Milk                                .30

 

Lunch deposits for the elementary schools, Junior High and High School can be made during registration and anytime online.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  During the school year lunch deposits at the High School and Junior High should ONLY BE MADE AT BREAKFASTNo charging of lunches will be permitted.

Please Note:  All course fees are payable with book rental payment.  

 

Admission prices for the following sports:  football, volleyball, basketball, and wrestling.

            $0.00 for Senior Citizens (62 years and older)

 

Family Pass:  $100.00 – Family pass allows immediate family access to all football, volleyball, basketball and wrestling contests.

 

Single Season Pass – Number of home games minus 1 student/adult/senior fee.  This pass is 

good for the season for which it was purchased.

SCHOOL INSURANCE:

School-time insurance coverage is provided for each student by the school district at no cost.  Brochures explaining this coverage will be available to students and parents at registration.  If parents have their own insurance coverage, the school accident coverage can help fill the gaps in coverage left by deductibles or coinsurance payments. This insurance is designed to be a co-insurance with your insurance plan and coverage.  

 

BOOK RENTAL/FEES:

Parents are encouraged to pay for all fees on the date of registration.  Any parent who feels they are unable to pay the book rental fee or meals for their children, and desire to apply to the Board of Education for free textbooks or free or reduced meals, should fill out the necessary request forms on registration day.  These request forms should be completed as you are registering your student.  Only one form is needed for each family.

 

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:

Wednesday, August 19, 2020 will be the first full day of school for kindergarten through fifth grade at elementary level; grade sixth & new students at the junior high, and grade nine & new students at the high school.

Thursday, August 20, 2020 will be full day of school for ALL students

 

ORIENTATION – Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st and 6th grade

 

Lincoln & Douglas, we will not be having a “meet the teacher” or an early supply drop off this year. 

 

Clinton Elementary School, we will not be having a “meet the teacher” or an early supply drop off this year.

 

Clinton Junior High School will not be holding their back to school cookout this year. All student orientation information will be covered on the first student attendance day for 6th graders and new students.
