CLINTON — The Lady Maroons were at home last Saturday, December 8, facing the Pana Lady Panthers.
These games were sandwiched in between the boys’ freshmen, junior varsity and varsity games for a basketball day at Clinton High School.
In the first skirmish, the Lady Maroons’ junior varsity (JV) couldn’t get anything to go their way. Maroons’ defense was weak as the Lady Panthers seemed to score at will.
Pana also controlled most of the offense. No one on the Lady Maroons’ team scored more than 3 points. The final score of the game was Pana 41, Clinton 15.
The varsity face-off was better in scoring, but the outcome was not much better.
The closest the Lady Maroons were able to hold on was 8 points at the end of the first three quarters. In the final quarter, the Lady Panthers were able to extend their lead and win by 11, 48-37.
The Lady Maroons were led by Madelyn Stevens with 19 points followed by teammate Mallory Cyrulik with 10 points.
