CLINTON — That popular porker Swifty Swine will host his 4th annual “Swifty Swine 5K” during the 49th Apple n’ Pork Festival weekend. The race is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23.
The 5K takes place on a scenic course at Weldon Springs State Recreation Area, and will include post-race snacks, homemade finishers medals and trophies for 1st and 2nd place male / female finishers in all categories.
There also will be a free “Piglet Prance” for little runners, which will start right after the awards ceremony for the adults.
The run categories will include ages 10-under, 11-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and ages 60-plus.
Entry to the race will be $25 on race day, Sept. 23. Event t-shirts will be guaranteed if registered by today.
Packet pick up and race day registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. on race day. The race will begin at 8 a.m. with awards at approximately 8:45 a.m.
The race will start and finish at the Chatauqua Picnic Area.
The Swifty Swine 5K is sponsored by Warner Hospital & Health Services and Warner Hospital Foundation.
