The DeWitt County Museum Association would like to publicly thank all who made our “Back to Our Roots” ham and bean grab and go drive-through event such a huge success, those who volunteered and those who purchased meals.
The first Apple ‘n Pork Festival was little more than one kettle of ham and beans and a stack of ham sandwiches sold to raise funds to help establish the C.H. Moore Homestead DeWitt County Museum. Then, just as on Sept. 26, they sold out quickly (even with 135 gallons of beans filing 3 large kettles) because of the generosity of this community and those who have made the festival an annual tradition.
With sincere gratitude,
DeWitt County Museum Association Board of Directors
