CLINTON — The Clinton Lady Maroons posted a big win this week against the Lady Cougars, of Illini Central.  

It was a surprisingly low scoring game in the initial quarter compared to some other recent games, but the Lady Maroons moved to capitalize on an early lead.

The end of the first quarter saw the Lady Maroons gaining a two point lead, 4-2.  From there the Lady Maroons caught fire and kept the Lady Cougars caged. 

In the third quarter the Lady Cougars exploded for 17 points.  The Lady Maroons, however, came back with good defense and more offense in the final quarter to keep the Lady Cougars at bay and then some.

The home team captured the 42-27 win, giving them a 13-11 overall win/lose record and 0-4 conference record.
