Extension, Warner Hospital offering Prime-Time Health Pgm.

CLIINTON —  Every day, people find themselves trying to understand what it takes to live a more healthy life. The amount of information is overwhelming and piecing it all together is a daunting task. University of Illinois Extension in DeWitt County and Warner Hospital and Health Services are offering an opportunity to help people unravel the mystery of leading a healthier lifestyle in an upcoming four-week program.

Dr. Sears Prime-Time Health, a four-week program, will be 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays, beginning April 5 and ending April 26. The program will be held at the DeWitt County Extension Office located at 8425 Katie Rd., in Clinton. Mykenzie Green, a Dr. Sears Wellness Institute Certified Health Coach, will lead the classes.

According to Dr. Sears Wellness Institute, “optimal health is achieved through a balanced approach to wellness focusing on lifestyle, attitude, exercise, and nutrition.” Prime-Time Health equips participants to understand how to live more healthfully and the science behind why making those changes matter. This program is designed for adults and seniors and covers topics such as aging well, stress management, the value of nutrition in reducing disease risk, and increasing physical strength.

“Health is not built on food and exercise alone,” says Extension Nutrition and Wellness Educator Caitlin Mellendorf. “We are excited for Mykenzie to present the Prime-Time Health series to provide information about many wellness areas and to explore ways to incorporate each in our lives.”

There is a $10 fee for this program. Participants must register by March 29 at go.illinois.edu/Primetime. For more information, please contact chuth2@illinois.edu or call 217-877-6042. This series is also offered as an online self-paced course with weekly group discussions. To learn more about this format, call 217-937-5275 or email events@warnerhospital.org
