Games begin at the Corn Crib July 1
Posted
NORMAL — Although the collegiate Prospect League is not functioning this year the management at the Corn Crib in Normal have come up with a solution. They have formed four teams of some of the Midwest's top collegiate players to play at the Corn Crib. The games begin July 1 and run through August 9 from Wednesday to Sunday, taking Monday and Tuesday off.
Each night will have a double-header baseball game and most of the usual Corn Crib hype - within Covid guidelines, of course. In keeping with the corn theme, the new league is called the Kernal Collegiate League and the four teams are the Bobcats, the Gems, the Hoots, and of course the hometown Cornbelters. And Corny the mascot will also be on the scene. The games will begin at 5:30 pm and as usual will have specials every night with Friday night fireworks after the games. Special CORN BASH nights are:
July 3rd - Star Wars night
July 4th - Born in the USA night
July 10th - Strikeout Cancer night
July 18th - Fan Fest night
July 24th - Christmas Eve in July night
July 31st - Margaritaville night
August 7th - Super Hero night
Base priced tickets start at $5 and go up from there. For more information you may call 309-454-2255 or go to CORNMELTERSBASEBALL. com. Sports are not gone yet, so keep the faith and keep safe.
