CLINTON — The Clinton Unit 15 School Board on Tuesday approved its annual tentative budget for the new school year. The budget hearing for the regular, school year budget is scheduled for September 15.
School district business manager Drew Goebel said they try to schedule a vote on each year’s tentative budget in July or August before the start of school. The board did not hold a regular meeting in July this year.
“We got the audit done early this year,” Goebel told school board members. “So, that will be great.”
Goebel said the tentative budget often shows the district in the red in the education fund prior to the school year. Money from the district’s working cash is transferred to the fund.
But, this year that is not the case.
“As I look at it right now, I think we’re in good shape,” Goebel said. “I think we’ll finish the year in the black.”
