September shaping up to be busy month at Warner Library

Posted

CLINTON —  The library will be buzzing with activity in September. Library staff are celebrating Library Card Sign-Up Month, introducing the public to the new quick reads collection, and excited to host vendors and have a booth for Apple ‘n Pork Festival. As always, the community is encouraged to visit the library to borrow books, movies, and more or attend a free event.

September is Library

Card Sign-Up Month

Celebrate by getting your very own library card this month! With a library card, you can discover new and exciting worlds. From borrowing the latest popular books and movies to taking free DIY classes, there is so much you can access with a library card. In September, new adult library card holders will receive a journal and library sticker. Children getting their library card will get to pick a toy from the treasure box. Current library card holders can replace their lost or damaged card for free (normally $1). All library visitors can also visit the children’s floor to complete a scavenger hunt for a sticker prize.

New Quick Reads

The library now offers some quick reads for youth, young adults, and adults. If you’re low on time or focus, these books are perfect for you. They are short, easy, and interesting. They’re also great for ESL or struggling readers. You can find these collections on both floors, one in the YA section on the main floor, adult selection is at the front circulation desk, and youth collection is upstairs near graphic novels. These collections were made possible by the Friends of the Warner Library.

Crafts & Vendors During the Apple ‘n Pork Festival Weekend

The library is excited to host a variety of vendors on its green space during the Apple ‘n Pork Festival weekend on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29. The library will also have a booth with library information and a free book giveaway sponsored by the Friends of Warner Library. This event wouldn’t be possible without the C.H. Moore Homestead and DeWitt County Museum. Be sure to show your support to them and all of the other local organizations in the community.

The library is open Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Hours are subject to change. The library will be closed on Monday, 9/2 in observance of Labor Day. The building will also close at noon on Friday, 9/27 and be closed Saturday, 9/28 during the Apple ‘n Pork Festival weekend.
